2025 Ford F-150 XL Delivers Class-Leading Performance To Saskatchewan
Anchoring the new F-Series fleet is the 2025 Ford F-150 XL. Designed for long hauls and everyday errands alike, this V6 proves ready to impress.
2025 Ford F-150 XL Versus 2025 Ram 1500 Tradesman: Performance
Performance requires no upgrades. Offered on the new F-150 XL is a 2.7L block. Crafted from compacted graphite iron - which enhances both strength and durability, affording an improved tensile output that can respond to high-payload demands - this engine delivers up to 325 HP and 400 lb.-ft of torque. Twin intercooled turbochargers promise near instantaneous output, eliminating throttle lag; while port-fuel and direct-injection technologies combine to improve sequencing. The result is pure EcoBoost power.
The 2025 Ram 1500 Tradesman does not fare so well.
Despite a larger engine configuration - a 3.6L V6 - the base trim can’t achieve the high-performance output of the XL. It generates just 305 HP and 269 lb.-ft of torque, while its eight-speed automatic transmission offers less precision than the F-150’s comparative 10-speed. This leaves drivers without the necessary payload power (8,110 pounds of conventional trailering).

2025 Ford F-150 XL Versus 2025 Ram 1500 Tradesman: Interior
Ford fuses the 2025 F-150 XL with more than full-throttle capability. It also delivers comfort - with this trim boasting an expansive six-passenger interior. Discover ample dimensions (head room: 40.8 inches, 40.3 inches; leg room: 43.9 inches, 33.5 inches; and shoulder room: 66.7 inches, 66.1 inches) and soft cloth materials. Manual lumbar support helps to counter long miles, while the steering wheel boasts tilting/telescoping capabilities to assure an optimal driver position.
The Ram 1500, comparatively, offers little comfort.
Though it shares a six-passenger design with the new XL, it offers none of the dimensions. Only 40.9 inches of leg room is found at the front, and the shoulder room is limited to 66.0 and 65.7 inches, respectively. This, when combined with vinyl materials, makes for a less forgiving ride.
